Can you help?

Your chance to have your say about standards in social housing

The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) took over the Housing Corporation's responsibility for regulating housing associations on 1 December 2008.  Dedicated to raising the standard of services by putting tenants first, the TSA aims to:

  • Stand up for what tenants want and making sure they have the information they need.
  • Challenge housing providers to constantly improve, deepen and accelerate their engagement with tenants and to remain viable and well governed.
  • Shape the direction of future housing, creating more choice about the way housing is managed and the landlords who provide it.

The TSA plans to do this by:

  • Putting tenants at the centre, and ensuring that landlords do the same.
  • Acting fairly, independently and decisively.
  • Encouraging excellence and focusing on real performance - both of the landlords it works with and the people it employs.

The TSA will first and foremost be a champion for existing tenants and future tenants of affordable housing.  The TSA believes that good governance and maintenance of financial viability is the bedrock of this mission.
