Resident Involvement

Sovereign Kingfisher are committed to involving residents, not just general needs tenants, but also leaseholders, sharedowners and market rent tenants. Through partnership with residents we aim to form homes, neighbourhoods and communities where people want to live.

We aim to deliver a fair and inclusive service across all the Local Authorities areas in which we work, involving residents in a tailored way to make sure that no matter where residents live, they have an opportunity to get involved.

Together with residents we will use our size and expertise to respond to people’s needs and aspirations.

The involvement of residents can make a real and meaningful difference.

The Tenant Services Authority sets out standards for Resident Involvement for social housing, the following is from the TSA publication "A new regulatory framework for social housing in England."

Customer Service and Choice

Registered providers must design and deliver housing services that tenants can access easily. Tenants must be offered choices over the services they receive, and be treated with fairness and respect. In relation to all the standards, registered providers must consider equality issues and the diversity of their tenants, including tenants with additional support needs.

Involvement and Empowerment

Registered providers will offer all tenants opportunities to be involved in the management of their housing. This must include opportunities to:

  • influence housing related policies and how housing related services are delivered
  • be involved in scrutinising peformance in delivering housing-related services

Registered providers offer tenants support so they are more able to be effectively engaged, involved and empowered.
